The first episode of Season 3 of the CW hit series "Beauty and the Beast" is set to premiere on May 21, though Canadians get a four-day lead on Americans.

According to Spoiler TV, the new season is set to consist of 13 episodes, with primary cast members Kristin Kreuk (Catherine "Cat" Chandler), Jay Ryan (Vincent Keller), Austin Basis (J.T. Forbes), Nina Lisandrello (Tess Vargas) and Nicole Gale Anderson (Heather Chandler) all returning to the show.

Several media outlets have reported Season 3 commences with Jay and Cat living under the same roof as a couple, though it seems anyone's guess just how long their union might last. Overall, the new season is expected to focus more on family, with Heather slated to take on a more prominent role in the series and viewers expected to be introduced to at least two more of Catherine's aunts.

Alan Van Sprang is set to reprise his role as Bob, while "Species" star Natasha Henstridge is slated to appear as Carol in a recurring role. Jason Gedrick will appear this season as Liam.

Late last season, Vincent and Cat engaged in an important conversation about their relationship during which they agreed they could still be "friends," though Vincent immediately seemed to harbor regrets.

Meanwhile, J.T. realizes that he did not win the grant he had been lead to believe he had and the whole episode is just one gigantic ruse. Instead, it all turns out to be simply an instance of Darnell using manipulating the situation to lure J.T. to his "underground lair to force him to recreate the Muirfield beast serum."

In a subsequent episode, "Till Death," Vincent and Cat are forced to work together as they team up in hopes of tracking down Sam's captor. At least part of their partnership happens around Valentine's Day, forcing Cat to reevaluate if she truly wants to be in a relationship with Gabe.

Venture Capital Post reports production for the third season was slated to wrap sometime in February.
