ABC’s ‘Modern Family’ Season 6 Episode 21 Spoilers: Jay and Phil Are at Odds With Their Spouses; Mitch and Cam May Adopt Another Child
Season 6 of the long-running and hilarious ABC comedy "Modern Family" has been filled with fun.
In Episode 21, titled "Integrity," there's another dose of the extended Pritchett family's cute and chaotic lives in a spin with unique everyday problems.
According to International Business Times, Jay Pritchett (Ed O'Neill) and Phil Dunphy (Ty Burrell) find common ground: grumpiness. They're both on their way to pick up Lily's hand-me-down princess castle for little Joe, much to Jay's dismay, when they each learn that their spouses have driven them into a tailspin as of lately.
Phil has been denigrated as the pants "folder" as opposed to the pants "wearer" when he is rebuked by his wife Claire (Julie Bowen) in regards to his desire to buy a videogame console. It puts him in a bad mood and the feeling is mutual with Jay, although for different reasons.
Jay is peeved to the fact that Gloria (Sofia Vergara) keeps showering their young son, Joe, with girlie toys. Jay's ego aside, he obviously wants his son to take on his gender-specific role and play with toys that are more befitting a boy. This may have roots within his initial dismay over son Cam's (Eric Stonestreet) sexual orientation, but the episode does not delve into that aspect.
In the meantime, Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cam are babysitting Joe. This gives way to their desire for more children, and they both are toying with the idea of adopting another. Joe slows their ambitions down a little when he becomes a much bigger chore than they had bargained for.
Gloria steps in and helps Haley (Sarah Hyland) out when she is having trouble asserting herself in the workplace. This leads to a little dose of "standing your ground" with firm tactics that secure a stance and still preserve the integrity of the workplace, somewhat.
Young Luke is also spiced along by his mother Claire, who attempts to bribe the school principal in regards to a student award. One can only imagine what kind of comedy could come from that.
"Modern Family" all new Wednesday on ABC at 9 p.m. ET.
