‘The Last Ship’ Season 2 Spoilers & News: Hit TNT Show to Be Immortalized in Comic Book
TNT is set to launch Season 2 of this hit cable drama series on June 21 at 9 p.m. But before then, the show has taken to another medium for its fans: comic books, according to TV Ruckus.
This five-part digital comic book series is set to launch at participating comic book specialty stores across the U.S. and Canada, which will be brought to you through the Madefire company and is in collaboration with TNT.
This comic book adaptation series, which is supposed to detail events that lead up to season two of the hit TNT series, will be released free to the general public. All you need to have is the Madefire App.
"The Last Ship" show executive producers Hank Steinberg and Steven Kane have collaborated with Chuck Dixon to produce original content for the story in this series of post-apocalyptic events, which happen in between Seasons 1 and 2. Graphic artists Renato Arlem and Omar Francia have also brought its visualization to life.
The series will have the distinction of being presented through Madefire's own Motion Book format. This format features short-burst reading accompanied by sound effects with real motion and special effects. It also features music, which readers can expect to be thoroughly immersed in the action.
Fans can get their first copies starting on Saturday, May 2. The next copy will then be available on May 29 and each Friday following that, through the Madefire App. The series will conclude on June 19, just ahead of the June 21 second season premier on TNT.
Jeff Gregor, executive vice president for TNT and TBS released a statement on this new venture.
"We are incredibly excited to be working with Madefire on bringing TNT's "The Last Ship" to the dynamic world of Motion Books. With its suspenseful, action-packed storyline, "The Last Ship" translates beautifully to the Motion Book format. This is a great way to take fans even deeper into the fascinating world of this blockbuster series," Gregor said.
For fans who want to revisit the first season, you can watch those episodes on TNT, or if you have Hulu, you can stream the episodes of Season 1 through that platform.
