Eminem MMLP2 & Kanye West News: Stars Reject Huge Offers to Play at Super Bowl Party
Not all money is good money, as both Kanye West and Eminem have proven -- reports are now surfacing that both of the superstar rappers have turned down offers to play at the Super Bowl party.
According to The Bleacher Report, NFL owners are throwing a private gala for the Super Bowl and were looking to procure an A-list artist to perform for the lucky people on the guest list. The owners' primary targets have allegedly rebuffed their advances, though: like Eminem's $2 million figure, Kanye West's terms were allegedly too steep. Apparently, Yeezy wanted big money and too much garnish on the side. "It was $1 million... plus a lot of other perks," reports the site.
It seems as though the NFL -- which will reportedly bring in more than half-billion dollars from the Super Bowl -- was more concerned about their bottom line (namely, their pockets) rather than their entertainment because (according to the Inquisitr) they ended up hiring someone VERY different. They ended up booking 28-year-old songstress Janelle Monae, who agreed to take the gig for what Eminem and West would likely consider pocket change, a scant $150,000 for the one-off show.
West has an estimated personal net worth reported to be $100 million, as noted by The Huffington Post. Eminem's net worth is estimated on the Celebrity Net Worth site as somewhat higher at $140 million. But adding in the reported net worth of West's soon-to-be-wife Kim Kardashian, the power couple combined equals Eminem's total.
The NFL party that both rap superstars turned down as paying too little is expected to be attended by 1,500 people. In other words, Enimen could have pocketed $1,333 for every person there to hear him rap. But West would have taken home just $667 per head.
The Feb. 2 clash between the yet-to-be-determined AFC and NFC champions will be the first time in the 48-year history of the Super Bowl that the mega-game has been played in a cold-weather city.
