Fox ‘The Last Man on Earth’ Season 1 Finale Spoilers: Phil and Carol Make Peace
In Episode 13 of "The Last Man on Earth," which will air Sunday at 9:30 p.m. on Fox, Phil (Will Forte) and Carol (Kristen Schaal) may finally make peace. But Old Phil does still have a lasting grudge against New Phil (Boris Kodjoe), who has made quite a lasting effect on the cul-de-sac community.
In the Fox Preview, we see what has highlighted his life just before people started showing up and the arrival of new Phil. But the season finale will lead to a showdown between the two Phils around a campfire, which comically teases Old Phil running away after childishly challenging the new, and much more muscular, Phil.
For those who have not kept up with the events surrounding this comical post-apocalyptic series, Phil Miller has been saved after by an unknown ex-military man, coincidentally named Phil Miller as well. He has essentially been upstaged in all key areas of post-apocalyptic survival skills by the handsome newcomer.
In the last episode, according to Entertainment Weekly, Old Phil has been emasculated to the point of acting out in doofus ways to prove his dominance over the community.
New Phil has also made impressive strides with the ladies, who are almost instantly attracted to his hunky physique and handy skills that come in super-handy when he gets the community back to a semi-pre-apocalyptic society. He was even able to get the cow to come down from the second floor of Carol's home, using prior experience and knowledge.
Old Phil has had enough of the women's lustful fortitude with the newcomer, and he even orders Melissa (January Jones) to stop hanging out with new Phil. This also puts the neurotic Todd (Mel Rodriguez) into a tailspin when he quickly interrupts Melissa's response and dumps her so he could be the first to end the relationship. She then reveals to him that she had no intention of dumping him, then shuts the door.
Later, new Phil unseats old Phil when he gets elected president, and also takes Carol as his new lover; at night when they hear the two having a passionate affair, Old Phil and Todd decide they are going to kill New Phil.
