Christmas Sale 2014: Best Buy Stocks Up on PS4, Xbox One for Holiday Season
Last minute shoppers and game enthusiasts who have the PS4 and the Xbox One on their Christmas wish list will be able to grab the game consoles at all Best Buy U.S. outlets starting December 22.
According to a report by Biz Journals, the chain store is bringing Sony's PS4 back to the shelves after it's been wiped out by gamers and fans. However, those who would like to get their hands on the next gen console would have to set up their alarm clocks or risk losing the hard to come by purchase.
"Quantities will be somewhat limited, so if you want to be there, you should be in line before we open at 7 a.m.," spokesman Jeff Shellman told Biz Journals, Friday.
Those who are planning to purchase more than one game console would have to bring in allies as report says the game console will be limited to only one per person.
Best Buy's move to replenish their PS4 inventory is rather timely for the holiday season. Sony's game console has almost always been out of stock, not only in stores such as Best Buy but in online shopping sites as well.
Since the $399 next gen game console's November 15 launch, it has suffered shortage. The more expensive Xbox One, however, has kept a shaky yet steady number of stocks available for purchase in several stores and online shopping sites. According to Best Buy, they still have two weeks' worth of stock for Microsoft's Xbox One.
Best Buy's stocks for Sony's next gen game console will also reportedly be replenished post Christmas and in time for New Year on the 29th, reports the Examiner. However, therse are just speculation, Best Buy is yet to confirm the restocking.
The store is seemingly working on making on-demand items such as the PS4 and the Xbox One always within reach by consumers.
"The perception is that the next-gen systems are totally sold out and if you want one before the holidays, you're out of luck.
At Best Buy, at least, that's not the case," Shellman told Biz Journals.
