Eminem MMLP2 New Album Update: Monster Rapper Demands $2 Million To Perform At Super Bowl Party
Double-platinum selling rapper Eminem was recently invited to perform at the annual NFL Owners Party during the week leading up to the Super Bowl in February. However, the Detroit rapper declined the request due to financial issues.
The NFL owners allegedly approached the Marshall Mathers LP 2 hitmaker's representatives to ask about Eminem potentially performing as the headliner for their upcoming Super Bowl party.
"Reps from the event were looking for a headline act for the party that followed the dinner, which will be attended by 1,500 lucky folks," a source claimed. "When Eminem's agents laid out the financial terms, we're told the owners group passed."
The "Monster" rapper reportedly requested upwards of $2 million for the evening's musical entertainment. However, since Eminem's financial demand apparently was way too high for their budget, the NFL owners turned down Slim Shady's multi-million dollar performance.
Similarly, the NFL owners asked Kanye West to perform at the annual event. The Yeezus rapper initially agreed to do so; however, when he asked for over $1 million, as well as additional benefits and compensation, the NFL owners had no choice but to turn down West's costly request.
As a result, after declining both hip-hop icons' counter offers to perform for them, the NFL owners opted for Janelle Monáe, who only requested the much lower rate of a mere $150,000 for her performance. Bruno Mars was also selected to perform at the halftime show of the actual game, which is slated to air Feb. 2, 2014.
