New Bill Cosby Sexual Assault Allegations: Lili Bernard, 'Cosby Show' Actress, Joins Women Accusing Comedian of Rape
An actress who once appeared on an episode of "The Cosby Show" has joined the growing parade of women now alleging sexual assault at the hands of famed comedian Bill Cosby.
According to The Wrap, Lili Bernard, who guest starred as Mrs. Minifield during a final-season episode of the popular show, was one of two women to go public with their claims on Friday. Over the last several months dozens and dozens of women have hurled similar allegations against Cosby.
Standing alongside her attorney, Gloria Allred, and fellow accuser Sammie Mays, Bernard insisted she was drugged, raped and threatened by Cosby while the two worked together on her role as "the zany and very pregnant Mrs. Minifield."
Bernard further alleges she last saw the famed performer more than two decades ago, at which point he sternly warned her, "As far as I'm concerned, Bernard, you're dead. Do you hear me? You're dead, Bernard. You don't exist. I never wanna see your face again."
In the months following that encounter, Bernard claims she became suicidal and to this day still suffers from panic attacks and night terrors stemming from the episodes.
Meanwhile, Mays alleges Cosby assaulted her in the mid-80s while she was working as a writer covering the NATPE convention in New Orleans. After approaching Cosby about an interview, she adds he invited her to his hotel suite and made her a drink.
"The next thing I remember when I awoke from my state of unconsciousness, I seemed to have been drooling and was sloppily slouched in the chair with barely the edge of my bottom in it," she recalled.
Mays further alleges her shirt was unbuttoned and her bra was slid to the side, exposing her breasts, and her belt had been "unhooked and re-hooked, left loose around my hips."
Through his attorney, Martin Singer, the 77-year-old Cosby has denied all the allegations, though they certainly have left a blemish on his once sparkling career and legacy.
Netflix recently postponed a comedy special he was set to star in, and NBC pulled the plug on a project the network was in the process of developing with him.
Cosby is scheduled to perform at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta on Saturday, and Allred insists she plans to be there as part of a planned protest.
