'NCIS' Season 12 Finale Spoilers: Team Suffers a 'Big Loss,' Ellie Bishop Actress Calls it an 'Emotional Episode'
The season finale of "NCIS" finds the team still on the trail of a child-recruiting terrorist group and facing an imminent death that's viewed as "a big loss for the team."
Emily Wickersham, who plays Special Agent Ellie Bishop, recently told TV Line of the May 12 episode, "It's just an emotional episode for the team. The loss is a very motivating thing, and we'll see what the team does with that."
Carter Matt reports Mimi Rogers is slated to guest star in the "Neverland" entitled episode, playing the role of a CIA agent investigating a conflict described so troublesome it comes to involve "multiple branches of government and law enforcement."
In recent episodes, Jamie Bamber guest starred as Jake Malloy, Bishop's NSA attorney husband and Matt Jones returns in his role as Special Agent Ned Dorneget, this time returning to aid the team with their investigation into the murder of a Navy Intelligence Officer.
Even without all the season finale somersaults, the last several episodes have been an emotionally charged time for the crew, with Gibbs (Mark Harmon) recently wearing his heart on his sleeve when he came into contact with a group of homeless vets. Right around that same time, Abby was feverishly working to help a homeless woman reconnect with her family.
Meanwhile, DiNozzo's resentment toward McGee seemed to be an all-time high as word spread that he has been tabbed to serve as the new face of all "NCIS" recruitment.
Deadline recently reported Michael Weatherly, who plays DiNozzo, has signed a new two-year deal with CBS to continue starring in the role and develop new projects for the network through his just formed Solar Drive Productions.
Weatherly joins fellow cast members Sean Murray (Timothy McGee) Rocky Carroll (Leon Vance), Pauley Perrette (Abby Sciuto) and David McCallum (Dr. Donald Mallard) in recently inking new deals with CBS and setting the stage for the entire cast to return to the show next season.
