NBA 2K14 PS4 & Xbox One Patches, Gameplay, Review: MyCareer, MyGM Improved in Latest Update
This year's NBA 2K14 release was such a runaway success across the board that it couldn't possibly get any better... or could it?
The widely popular Lebron James-based basketball video game is already the top selling sports video game and one of the most popular games overall, but 2K Sports is making improvements via patches to make sure that the online gameplay is as smooth as possible. The
According to 2K Sports, the third and latest patch -- which was released a few days back -- fixes things such as glitches and issues that have arisen in different game modes. Several of the changes were applied to The Park, a game mode that has been plagued by faulty dunk packages as well as problems at the start of matches.
Among other parts of the game that were improved include the gameplay, MyCareer, and MyGM. The vast majority of fixes within these different categories are just to fix glitches and help the game run smoother, which is very much welcomed by the die-hard 2K Sports fans who have been playing this game since it was initially released.
"Our commitment to NBA 2K14 Next Gen is ongoing, as you can see with the level of depth in the 3rd patch," the website read. "This patch is a mixture of gameplay improvements and fixes for technical issues, including many MyPLAYER cases."
Whether the patch ends up improving things or not is apparently yet to be seen. Several comments were made on the blog following the release of the patch and none are positive. Many complained that the patch fixed nothing and that the previous issues were still not resolved.
Despite the fact that NBA Live fell as flat as a pancake upon release, some are so outraged that they are considering a switch to the other game.
"Since the update, I have not been able to edit the contract offers in MyGM," one commenter said on the 2K Sports blog. "The association, MyGM, whatever you want to call it, is my only reason for purchasing this game. This needs to be fixed ASAP or I'm going to go see if NBA Live has the same issue."
These complaints seem surprising considering how well the game was received in the early going. Have you experienced the same problems? Let us know in the comments!
