Kerry Washington, NFL Husband Nnamdi Asomugha Spotted at MET Gala in Rare Public Outing
To be among the celebrity world's best known couples, Kerry Washington and Nnamdi Asomugha really do appear to value their privacy.
The "Scandal" star and her former NFL husband seem to crave their anonymity just as much as they do the bright lights of Hollywood.
"They're homebodies and really weird about who they let in their circle," a source told People of the two. "Every now and then they'll go out to a movie at ArcLight, but they just hang out at their place."
Washington and Asomugha were secretly married in a private ceremony in Idaho nearly two years ago and since making their union legal have been just as secretive about it as they were about the ceremony that bound them together.
The times 38-year-old Washington has deviated from keeping her private life just that have been far and few between, like the time she recently told People how much she enjoys being a mother to the couple's 1-year-old daughter, Isabelle Amarachi.
"It's just made my life better in every way," she said. Another instance of the couple letting their hair down, so to speak, came last week when they traveled to attend the annual MET Gala Ball in New York City.
As for lighting up the stage, that is a whole other issue for Washington, who has also starred in such films as "Ray," "The Last King of Scotland," "Django Unchained," "I Think I Love My Wife" and "For Colored Girls."
In April 2014, Time Magazine named her one of the 100 "Most Influential People in the World."
Asomugha, 33, played 11 NFL seasons, the first eight with the Oakland Raiders. His best year came with the Raiders in 2006 when he had eight interceptions and 48 tackles overall.
