With the release of the Apple Watch, Apple required users to update their operating systems to iOS 8.2. iOS 8.2 provided support for the Apple Watch. Since the latest jailbreak available is for iOS 8.1, the Apple Watch will not be able to run on a jailbroken device.

A hacker that goes by the name angelXwind (Karen) is finding a way, so that users who have used an iOS 8.1 jailbreak can still use the Apple Watch, according to iDigitalTimes.

AngelXwind was able to develop a tweak that allows iOS 8.1 jailbreak users to use their Apple Watch. She has played around with the tweak and proven that it works with pictures. It does not look like angelXwind has figured out a way to get the Activity app to work with a jailbroken device, but all the other functions are seemingly working on the Apple Watch.

There is still more work to be done to guarantee that jailbreakers will be able to use their Apple Watch.

The upcoming iOS 8.4 will be the next operating system that Apple plans to release. Developers and hackers have already been working on finding a way to jailbreak iOS 8.4.

There could be some bad news for the future of jailbreaking, according to Evasi0n Jailbreak. According to the website, it might become very difficult, if not impossible, to jailbreak once iOS 9 comes later this year.

Jailbreaking an operating system requires hackers and developers to find vulnerabilities in the system and exploit them. Evasi0n says that Apple has been working "overtime" on security and trying to eliminate any vulnerabilities that allows hackers to jailbreak. iOS 9 is said to be focused on improving performance and security rather than releasing new features. This could mean that a jailbreak for iOS 8.4 might be the last one jailbreak fans will see for quite some time, and maybe forever.
