'Scandal' Season 4 Finale Spoilers: Kerry Washington Wonders Where Show Goes After 'Crazy' Finale
The ABC political thriller “Scandal” is coming to its end.
In Episode 22 of Season 4, "You Can’t Take Command," all intrigue and drama comes to a head in some shocking ways that the lead actress in the show, Kerry Washington, is calling crazy.
According to Spoilers Guide, all the tension that has been building up comes to a head as Olivia (Washington) and the team finally make some big strides toward taking down Command.
Meanwhile, first lady Mellie’s (Bellamy Young) political future is sealed as the election results are announced.
According to Variety, Washington spoke about the finale at the Directors Guild of America panel on May 1 and voiced her astonishment at the episode.
“This finale episode, I mean, I just … I turned to Shonda [Rhimes]. I was like, ‘Where do we go from here? Are you for real? Now what?’ It’s crazy," she said.
But it's something the show will have to deal with as it has been picked up for a fifth season, according to the show's Facebook page.
Aside from Washington, Young also expressed her admiration for the show’s creator and showrunner, Shonda Rhimes, by declaring -- and perhaps giving us a clue as to what will become of her character Mellie -- “Shonda has shown no mercy.”
Thursday night’s episode, “A Few Good Women,” dealt with the dark subject matter of sexual assault in the military and the culture of rape that allows it to fester.
Pope, addressing the press on behalf of a victim of sexual abuse, asks how the woman who has been assaulted can “expect fairness from a military judicial system in which everyone from the investigators to the judges to the jury all salute and take orders from the man she’s accusing of a crime?”
Things are sure to get even more get more intense in the finale.
Darby Stanchfield, who plays Abby Whelan on the series, offered quite a spoiler.
“The structure of everything explodes,” Stanchfield said.
The Season 4 finale will air on May 14 on ABC. Watch a teaser below.
