Video Game Roundup for May 8, 2015: Ether One, Syberia II, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker and More [Watch]
Several highly anticipated video games are being released May 2015. While we have previously reported a complete list of May game launches, here are profiles of the best new games released for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, PC and Nintendo 3DS this week.
There are no game releases for Xbox 360 this week.
Xbox One
"Slice Zombies." The zombie apocalypse is over, but there are thousands of zombies remaining. You are tasked with stepping in front of your Kinect and using your hands to grab, cut and shoot zombies into smithereens. "Ether One." This first-person adventure game was released for Microsoft Windows in March 2014. PlayStation 4 fans have eagerly awaited its release, and finally, it is available. Ether One is an adventure that deals with the fragility of the human mind. There are two paths in the world you can choose from: an exploration path where you can unfold the story at your own pace, or a complex puzzle path to restore life changing events of the patient's history to help them validate their life. $19.99. Released May 5.
PlayStation 3
"Syberia II" is a 2004 adventure game that is a continuation to Syberia. It is a third-person puzzle-solving game. An odd pair -- young Kate Walker and old Hans Voralberg -- start a journey in search of the last fabled Syberian mammoths. You guide Hans and Kate as they encounter dangerous obstacles that test their courage and determination. You'll come across new characters in a variety of environments. It is up to you to solve the mysteries behind Syberia. The game has received 4- and 5-star reviews on Google Play, Steam, Metacritic and Amazon. $29.99. Released May 5.
PC
"Selfie: Sisters of the Amniotic Lens" is an Indie, multiplayer adventure game. The endless, halcyon days of the summer of love are over. Now it is 198X. You wake up in a very grim situation. You were the "Sisters of the amniotic lens," and now you must face what you did years ago. Price unavailable. Released May 8.
Nintendo 3DS
"Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker" was released on May 5 and already has received rave reviews. The video game has two campaigns, along with a strong story with fun characters, choice-based visual novel gameplay and clever tactical RPG. It is an interesting, apocalyptic setting rich with Japanese culture. Best of all, according to gamer reviews, it has plenty of replay value. Your character is trapped in a world that has been invaded and is on the brink of destruction. You and your friends have gained the ability to summon demons using your cell phone, and now, you have the power to fight against fate. Will you be able to save the future of humankind? $49.99.
