Former NFL cornerback Asante Samuel has listed his Southwest Ranches, Florida, estate for $9.5 million, reports the Los Angeles Times.

One of the best features of Samuel's 18,000-square-foot home is its 140,000-gallon pool valued at $1 million. Completed in 2013, the pool area has a saltwater filtration system, an entrance to a beach, and geyser and water slide amenities, adds the LA Times.

Other features that add up to the lavishness of this amazing summer watering hole is an outdoor fire pit for a relaxed ambiance and a hot tub.

The swimming pool area is the property's best party site with an outdoor pavilion and several flat-screen TV sets to boot. Ben Moss, the listing agent of the property and an agent of One Sotheby's International Realty, told the LA Times that the million-dollar pool is also adorned with "surrounding custom LED lighting, tropical landscaping and pavers."

Inside Samuel's lavish home

The expansive mansion contains nine bedrooms and 12.5 baths, including a master bedroom that comes with a sitting room, its own fireplace and a magnificent master bathroom that has a spa allure. Samuel's residence also boasts luxury amenities such as a home theater, a game room and a music studio, describes the LA Times.

A good investment

Samuel is set to profit a hefty amount from the home's sale since he only paid less than $2.4 million for the property seven years ago, recalls the LA Times, citing real estate records. The NFL free agent started the construction of his estate, which was originally listed for $12.9 million in 2014, just after he became part of Philadelphia Eagles in 2008, with a six-year, $56 million contract under his name, reports Realtor.com.

After being included in the University of Central Florida's All-MAC first team, the UFC Knights considered Samuel "one of the best cover cornerbacks UCF has ever known." He became the fourth-round pick of the New England Patriots in 2003, and he stayed with the team for five seasons. Two of his seasons with the Patriots emerged victorious, gaining the prestigious Super Bowl championships in a back-to-back win for 2004 and 2005, notes LA Times. In 2008, Samuel joined the Philadelphia Eagles, and in 2012, he was traded to the Atlanta Falcons.

In February 2014, the Falcons decided to release him, along with linebacker Stephen Nicholas. Samuel has been a free agent ever since.
