'Fifty Shades of Grey' Cast & News: Marlon Wayans to Spoof Film with Release of 'Fifty Shades of Black'
Imagine if "Fifty Shades of Grey" was 50 times funnier than it was meant to be?
Well, if you did, you're in luck, especially if you saw the film and had some chuckles, from Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey's awkward chemistry and uncomfortable sex scenes to the unrealistic plot.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wayans will team up with producer-writer Rick Alvarez and director Michael Tiddes on the new comedy spoof, which will reunite the people behind the "Haunted House" franchise.
"Mr. Wayans will see you now..." a caption reads in the hilarious picture that Wayans showed off on Instagram.
"We're excited to be back in business with IM Global doing our comedic remix of this movie. Sex and comedy go hand-in-hand and I'm looking forward to having fun with this project," said Wayans in a statement.
"It's amazing when a film of this caliber comes along begging to be made fun of. I'm really happy to be doing what I love with people I love to do it with. That double entendre was intentional."
The project will be introduced to buyers at the Cannes Film Festival, which begins next week.
"We're excited to pair up once again with Marlon, Rick and Mike on Fifty Shades of Black, and we look forward to together creating another wholesome slice of entertainment for all the family," he said.
Wayans is a member of the comedic Wayans family who rocked "In Living Color." He continued on to star alongside his brothers in the WB's "The Wayans Brothers" and then hit the big screen in "Scary Movie," "Scary Movie 2," "White Chicks," "A Haunted House" and "A Haunted House 2." He has also collaborated with the co-founder of the popular comedic online platform "Funny or Die."
For a brief stint, Wayans also took on a dramatic role in Darren Aronofsky's critically acclaimed "Requiem for a Dream," showing that while he tends to stick with comedy, he has versatility in his acting (more of which many would like to see)
"Fifty Shades of Black" will kick of its production in the coming months and is slated for an early 2016 release.
