Morgan Freeman Movies: Actor Says He Uses Marijuana Often, Says He'll 'Eat It, Drink It, Smoke It, Snort It'
During a recent interview with the Daily Beast, Morgan Freeman expressed his support for the legalization of marijuana.
Freeman strongly supports the legalization of marijuana because he uses it often, he revealed.
Freeman praised the plant for its "many useful uses" and revealed that he uses it to help alleviate his fibromyalgia pain.
"I have fibromyalgia pain in this arm, and the only thing that offers any relief is marijuana," he explained. "They're talking about kids who have grand mal seizures, and they've discovered that marijuana eases that down to where these children can have a life. That right there, to me, says, 'Legalize it across the board!'"
Freeman explained that he was first introduced to marijuana by his first wife many years ago. At the time, Freeman recalled people feeling wary about the drug because of the belief that the drug is addictive and has negative side effects.
"They used to say, 'You smoke that stuff, boy, you get hooked!' " Freeman recalled. "My first wife got me into it many years ago. How do I take it? However it comes! I'll eat it, drink it, smoke it, snort it!"
According to Us Weekly, the Academy Award-winning actor also slammed the use of alcohol and suggested that consuming alcohol is worse than consuming marijuana. Freeman praised the marijuana legalization movement and acknowledged its rapid growth.
"This movement is really a long time coming, and it's getting legs -- longer legs." Freeman said. "Now, the thrust is understanding that alcohol has no real medicinal use. Maybe if you have one drink it'll quiet you down, but two or three and you're f*cked."
Following his interview with the Daily Beast, social media users flocked to Twitter to weigh in on Freeman's marijuana comments.
Some social media users have praised the actor for supporting the legalization movement while others have slammed him for promoting the drug.
