NBA Players Homes: OKC Thunder Star Kevin Durant Gets Hefty Profit from Miami Condo Sale
Kevin Durant, a six-time NBA all-star player and pride of the Oklahoma City Thunder, scored a hefty profit from the sale of his $3.15 million Miami condo recently, reports the Los Angeles Times.
Durant purchased the property four years ago for nearly $1.83 million through a limited-liability company, adds the news site, citing property records. The closed deal gave Durant a return of investment of more than a million dollars.
The nearly 3,800-square-foot apartment comes with three bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms, a chef's kitchen, open floor plan and some formal living spaces, describes LA Times. The Miami condo also boasts sweeping views of Biscayne Bay, through its spanning glass panels and an outdoor terrace.
The luxury unit Durant once called home has a modern feel, accented with masterful designs. Such attention to artistic and contemporary architectural details is evident on the tiled wall fireplace, smart-home systems, home theater, airy ambiance and private elevator, adds the site.
The real estate agent who brokered the sale was Ben Moss of One Sotheby's International Realty, while sales agent Michael Light of Miami Luxury Homes represented the buyer, a Colombian businessman, notes LA Times.
Born in Maryland, Durant enrolled at the University of Texas in Austin, where he was the only freshman to win both of his university's prestigious awards -- the Oscar Robertson and the Adolph F. Rupp awards, as stated on his official website.
Durant only stayed for one year in college since he was drafted by the Seattle SuperSonics in 2007, which signaled the beginning of his stellar NBA career, says the site. The Sonics is now known as the OKC Thunder after relocating to Oklahoma City, the official site informs. So far, the highly-successful NBA star player was named Rookie of the Year, NBA's MVP in 2014 and he even surpassed Michael Jordan's record of 40 consecutive games with at least 25 points.
Injury-laden season
The 26-year old player had a right foot injury in March and only played 27 games this season, notes LA times.
But as soon as he returns next season, the OKC Thunder will have a new coach, long-time college basketball coach Billy Donovan, according to ESPN. Durant has already expressed his warm welcome to the new coach.
Fans will also be seeing the basketball player don his new Nike KD 8 shoes, as leaked on The Stashed.
