iPad Pro Rumors, Release Date & Features: 13-Inch Tablet to Pack 4K Display?
As the year closes, rumor mills surrounding the iPad Pro are now churning double time. This time around, news of the supposed iPad Pro says that the next generation tablet will come with no less than a 4K display.
It was earlier reported that Apple is working on big stuff for the coming year. Through an allegedly leaked year-end memo by Apple CEO, the Cupertino-based company reportedly has big plans for 2014. Quoting the so called memo, Apple's big plans are sure to be innovations that "customers are going to love."
One part of Apple's big plans for the year 2014 is rumored to be the iPad Pro. The device is dubbed to be one of the best tablets ever bound for release next year.
According to Digitimes, Apple supplier and manufacturer Quanta Computer is working on 12.9-inch and 13.3-inch panels for the next gen iPad. The iPad Pro is rumored to be scheduled for release October 2014 and will come with a 4K display.
Forbes reports that the tech giant will be saying goodbye to retina next year and hello to 4,000 pixels - at least in terms of the rumored iPad Pro.
A report quotes Chinese website PadNews saying that the tech giant is already testing 2K and 4K displays for the next gen tablet.
The iPad Air sports a retina display which comes in at 2048 x 1536 already. According to Forbes, iPad Air is already at 2K display - with the difference between 2K and retina "just a matter of terminology."
Should Apple be pushing through with a 13-inch iPad Pro with 4K display, the technology will be a first in the smartphone industry.
Rival Samsung has recently released the Samsung UHD TV with 3840 x 2160 resolution that has been the marvel of consumers and customers since its release. Apple's iPad Pro, should it truly come with a 4K display will surpass rival Samsung's UHD TV with its rumored 4096 x 3072 resolution.
As noted by Forbes, the only other bigger challenge for Apple is to keep the iPad Pro at the very least, as thin as the iPad Air.
