Jailbreak iOS News: iOS 8.3 Jailbreak Delayed Even Further with New iOS 8.4 Beta
Apple iPhone users hoping to jailbreak iOS 8.3 will have to wait even longer because the third beta of iOS 8.4 has been released to developers this week, according to Macrumors.
The next update to iOS will be iOS 8.4. In iOS 8.4, the Music app has been revamped and improved. The Music app will come with a new design and will offer a new MiniPlayer feature. The Music app will also include a new look for the "Now Playing" feature, personalized playlists and global search capabilities, making it easier to search for songs.
There is no official release date for the full public version of iOS 8.4, but Apple's recent iOS updates have addressed vulnerabilities that hackers and jailbreak developers have exploited in order to create a jailbreak. If Apple continues to enhance the security of its iOS releases, developers will have a hard time creating a jailbreak for the latest iOS releases.
Developers and hackers have not been able to create a jailbreak for iOS 8.3 yet. However, well-known jailbreak developer Stefan Esser, also known as i0n1c, created a video showing a proof of concept of an iOS 8.4 beta 1 jailbreak.
It is likely that Apple has heard about Esser's jailbreak of the first beta of iOS 8.4, and they could have already patched the vulnerabilities he has found with a security patch.
Even if Esser's jailbreak works, the public may never get a chance to see it in action. He created the video of the jailbreak just to prove it was possible and does not plan on sharing it with the public. Esser used to cooperate with the Chinese developing team Pangu, who has released jailbreaks in the past. Now, Esser refuses to work with Pangu anymore because he has accused them of stealing his work.
Users hoping to jailbreak iOS 8.3 and 8.4 might have to wait until iOS 9 is released, Culture Mob reports. If a jailbreak is discovered for iOS 8.3, Apple could easily create a security patch in iOS 8.4, and since iOS 8.4 is coming out very soon, the jailbreak would be short lived. However, if a jailbreak is discovered for iOS 8.4 soon, it will be a while before iOS 9 is released, and a security patch is created.
