‘Modern Family’ Season 6 Episode 23 Spoilers: Alex Is Forced to Observe a Senior Skip Day, Gloria Breaks Up with Manny's Girlfriend
Season 6 of "Modern Family" has been a laugh a minute comedy series.
In Wednesday's 9 p.m. ET episode, titled "Crying Out Loud," we gets to see the antics of the Dunphy family intermingle with those of the extended Pritchett family, reports Spoilers Guide.
We have seen young Alex Dunphy take various incarnations over the past six years as the highly intelligent middle child who is quite adept at manipulating her sister and brother with intelligent deceptions. But we have never quite seen her sabotage her own educational career.
This is where the episode takes an unlikely twist, as her senior skip day is now upon her. Her father, Phil, brother Luke and sister Haley all take it upon themselves to make sure that her over-achieving nerdy existence doesn't persevere over her rites as an adolescent.
They successfully devise a plot that will force her into observing the skip day and things go fine in the beginning. But an unexpected detour will eventually land them in a shutdown auditorium, which will have ironically weird circumstances.
The episode also delves into their mother's life when Claire is offered a job from a big hotel chain. This lucrative offer actually gives her a lot of inner turmoil and she twists herself with guilt at the thought of leaving her father's company.
But after her father finds out and seems to take on a nonchalant attitude toward the matter, Claire's stress releases and the issue is now "why her father does not seem bothered by the notion of her leaving."
Additionally, this episode will also see Manny have his wisdom teeth removed, which leads to him needing pain killers and making him groggy afterward. But Gloria seizes the moment and uses it as an opportunity to break him up with his new girlfriend.
