'Keeping Up with the Kardashians: About Bruce' Date, Time & News: Kris Jenner Says Bruce Jenner Special Exists to 'Give People Hope'
Kris Jenner talked to Entertainment Online regarding the upcoming special "Keeping Up with the Kardashians: About Bruce."
"The reason we did it, and the sole reason, was just to show other people going through the same thing, what a family might do," the reality TV star said. "And to give people hope, because we had never been through something like this before."
Kris mentioned that all of her children will appear in the special, except for Rob Kardashian. She added that she hopes some viewers will gain comfort in watching the special.
"I think it might be helpful to families going through the same thing and hopefully shed some light on something that might bring comfort to someone else," she said.
The former Olympian gave an exclusive interview on April 24 to Diane Sawyer, where he revealed his transition into becoming a woman. Meanwhile, people criticized Kris for not commenting on the ABC special.
"Everyone loves to jump to conclusions you know? Haters are gonna hate!" she said. "I think people will just see it the way it happens when they see how it all played out."
E!'s "KUWTK" special on Bruce Jenner airs on Sunday, May 17, according to ABC News. The two-part special will continue on Monday. Tune in at 9 p.m. ET on each night.
The program captures intimate conversations Bruce Jenner shares with his family and the emotional moments they all go through.
A trailer for the two-part series shows Kris crying to her daughter, Kim Kardashian, after finding out her ex-husband is transgender.
"I have these memories of this life and I feel sometimes like it didn't exist," she said, sobbing.
Kim comforts her mom while supporting Bruce.
"He has to deal with this for his entire life of waking up and feeling like, 'Woah! This isn't my body. This doesn't feel comfortable,'" she said. "That's the only way I can kind of imagine it. And you really have to, like, let go."
Kris and Bruce were married in 1991 and split in 2013.
