Apple iPad Mini with Retina Display vs. Nexus 7 vs. Samsung Galaxy 3 8.0: Price, Specs, Features, Comparison
There are a number of tablets that have come together to serve as legitimate contenders against Apple's many different iPads. We'll take a look at each of these and the way they differ and vary from one to the next. This is a great opportunity to compare and contrast different tablets before running to the store and picking one up soon.
Battery Life: Battery life is just not that big of an issue with tablets when compared to smartphones. However, there is some variation in the battery lifespans among different competitors. Surprisingly enough, the iPad Mini with Retina Display only has up to 10 hours as opposed to the Samsung Galaxy Tablet, which can last for 11 hours. The Nexus 7 tablet is the worst of the three and only has up to 9 hours.
Screen Size: The Samsung Galaxy holds the edge here but only by .1 inches. The iPad Mini with Retina display is 7.9 inches while the Galaxy was rounded off at 8 inches. The Nexus 7 is significantly smaller at 7 inches.
Operating System: The iPad is obviously set with iOS 7 while the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean is featured with the Galaxy tablet. The Nexus 7 is a step up with the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
Price: Apple has built a solid reputation as one of the top brands in the world and this comes with a price tag. The iPad is the priciest tablet listed here and it starts at a whopping $399. The Nexus 7 starts at $229 while the Galaxy has only one 16 GB option at $299.
