Jessica Simpson, Eric Johnson Relationship News: Couple Hopes Another Baby Will Save Year-Old Marriage?
Less than a year into their marriage, Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson are rumored to be desperately hoping that having a third child might help save their union.
According to Life & Style magazine, Johnson has "been wanting another baby badly" and that may be the only shot the couple has of preserving their relationship.
A source also told the magazine Simpson recently began feeling the same way after she recalled how much closer she felt to her husband when they had their first two kids. The memories were enough to even prompt Simpson to kick her alleged addiction to the drug Adderall and other stimulants.
"Jessica's giving in, hoping one more baby will save their marriage," the source added. "I wouldn't be surprised if they're already trying."
After a four year engagement, the couple was married in 2014 at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California. Their year-old son, Ace, was a ring bearer, and their 2-year-old daughter, Maxwell, was a flower girl.
Simpson's sister and then fiancé Evan Ross were in attendance, as were close friends Jessica Alba and Topher Grace.
Prior to their relationship, the 34-year-old Simpson was married to singer Nick Lachey for four years before citing irreconcilable differences and filing for divorce. According to People, Simpson also dated Dallas Cowboys star quarterback Tony Romo for roughly two years starting in 2007, with the couple breaking up the night before her 29th birthday.
"She's heartbroken," a source told the magazine back then. "She loves Tony. But it's been difficult lately."
During an appearance on "Good Morning America" prior to marrying Johnson, Simpson told the host: "I already feel like we're an old married couple. Like, if he wanted to run, he could've run when I was hormonal and pregnant."
