'Elder Scrolls 6: Argonia' Release Date & News: Next Title Leaked, Why Bethesda is Going With 'Redguard' [Rumor]
Bethesda has been really quiet about what it plans to unveil during its first ever press conference at the upcoming 2015 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). However, there is speculation that news about either Fallout 4 or Elder Scrolls 6 will be revealed soon.
As gamers eagerly await news regarding their favorite games, new rumors about the "Elder Scrolls 6" game surfaced. According to Crossmap, while its been speculated that the new Scrolls title would be "Argonia," new updates revealed that it could actually be "Redguard."
Recalling the previous title, "Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim," the publication pointed out that Bethesda trademarked the title "Redguard" as it was expected that it would be a DLC. Without any release, however, the name remains reserved yet unused.
Following Skyrim, there has been no "Elder Scrolls" releases except for "Elder Scrolls" Online," which was later rebranded to be "Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited."
The rumor began over at Kotaku where one commenter, called "Silver," provided the following argument:
"If it interests you, TES:6 is called Redguard too. They've always trademarked the name of the next TES game the same year they release one. 'Oblivion' was first trademarked in 2002, 'Skyrim' was first trademarked in 2006, 'Redguard' was first trademarked in 2011. This is not an old trademark from the Elder Scrolls Adventures game of the same name - it is an active and constantly renewed trademark. All other older TES game trademarks are inactive (Arena, Daggerfall, Battlespire).
'Redguard' is the only TES-related trademark Zenimax own that isn't either dead or in use with a released game. Remember when so many video game websites noticed the trademark and assumed it was future Skyrim DLC? The core fans among us knew it was TES:6."
While there are number of news circulating regarding the highly-anticipated new title, the reasoning behind "Redguard" being a possible title has been noted to be quite logical.
Typically, Bethesda releases a new title every four years and with Skyrim having been released in November 2011, it's expected that a new Scrolls title within the year.
2015 E3
A press conference will be hosted by Bethesda on June 14, it's first ever during an E3 event, reported Gamespot. As reported earlier, a number of online sources indicate that "Fallout 4" will take the cake at E3 with "Elder Scrolls 6" following in March 2016.
