The Season 5 finale of "Hawaii Five-0" started with a potentially explosive scene that in turn ended OK with Adam and Kono's wedding, sort of. But one of the big headlines of the episode was the return of Michelle Borth's character, Catherine.

According to TVLine, she isn't going to be departing the show anytime soon either. Next season is supposed to start directly where last season left off, following the vows of the Adam and Kono at their wedding.

The newlyweds' first dance, which finally reveals that Adam and Kono did indeed get married, will be the first scene on the bill accompanied by their first introduction as husband and wife.

Showrunner Peter M. Lenkov spoke with TVLine about how the season will play out with Catherine's involvement.

"We haven't finalized how long she'll stay, but she'll definitely be in some episodes at the beginning of the season," Lenkov told TVLine. "We haven't figured out exactly where to go, but we're working on it."

As reported by Inquisitr, Alex O'Loughlin's Steve McGarrett character takes very well to her showing up and she becomes as much a part of the story as the other cast regulars.

Season 5 actually ended with quite a few loose ends. Its major story, that will likely evolve during Season 6, had to do with Chin's suspicions of Adam leading him to a potentially perilous showdown with Gabriel. But now Gabriel is on the run and that leads to a potentially major plot advancement for season 6, given Chin's promise to hunt him down.

But Catherine and Steve are a hot topic for the show. For instance, most of the finale never got around to them asking any of the major questions to each other, such as Steve asking her whether or not she's staying. They just kind of blended in with all the surrounding action, in a manner of speaking.

So at the very least, she is back for a few episodes.
