Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have chosen not to reprise their role as Michelle Tanner on the Netflix "Full House" reboot series titled "Fuller House," E! News reports.

"Full House" alum John Stamos took to Twitter and Facebook to express his disappointment over the Olsen sisters' decision to not return to the show, says Us Weekly.

Stamos, who will be guest starring and producing the new "Fuller House" series, admitted that he was "heartbroken" over the news but wished the Olsen sisters "the best" in their fashion endeavors.

"Fuller House" executive producer Robert L. Boyett also released a statement regarding the Olsen sisters' decision and praised them for successfully building their fashion brands.

"It has been exciting to see how they have built their professional careers, and I support their choice to focus on their fashion brands and various business endeavors. I appreciate their support and good wishes towards Fuller House," Boyett said.

"Fuller House" will incorporate the same storyline as "Full House" with the original show's alum cast.

Candace Cameron Bure will reprise her role as D.J. Tanner-Fuller, who is a recently widowed mother that seeks help from her sister Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and her best friend Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber) to help raise her boys.

Stamos is set to only appear as a guest star on the show since he is already under contract to appear full-time in Fox's "Grandfathered."

An exact date for the "Fuller House" premiere has yet to be announced, but E! News says that the show will debut on Netflix sometime next year.
