'Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon' Arriving on Nintendo 3DS in 2015
A new Pokemon video game is arriving on the Nintendo 3DS console. Pokemon Company International has recently teamed up with Nintendo to come out with the Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon title, which is the latest in the Mystery Dungeon series of the franchise.
Nintendo made the announcement on its official website. According to the statement released, the upcoming title would feature favorite Pokemon characters that are both Legendary and Mythical to help save the world.
No specific release date was revealed for the new title but the site mentioned that the Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon title would arrive on North American shores in winter 2015.
The original Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series was welcomed with enthusiasm when it came out and sold 13 million copies worldwide. It seems that Nintendo aims to surpass that level with the updated Super Mystery Dungeon series.
As Techno Buffalo explained, in the Mystery Dungeon titles, the player is represented as a child in the video game, which transforms into a Pokemon character to be able to play the adventures. Once turned into a Pokemon, the player could do numerous things such as play quests, go to adventures to save the world from the clutches of evil and basically pushing forward Pokemons' mission.
While it is still unclear what differentiates the upcoming Super Mystery Dungeon from the previous titles released, Nintendo hinted at more creative and random dungeon changes for the gameplay. Players would also be able to team up with other Pokemons to complete the challenges.
Nintendo has already released nine titles for the Mystery Dungeon series, reported Eurogamer. The titles were made available in four different platforms including the Nintendo 3DS, Game Boy DS, Game Boy Advance and even for the Wii.
Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon is already confirmed to arrive for the 3DS but no word has been made if other platforms could also expect the title soon.
Japanese players could get their hands on the title soon as it has been set for an autumn release in the country. North American fans will still have to wait until winter to be able to play the game. European players on the other hand, would be able to access the new title in early 2016. All three scheduled releases have not been given any specific date yet.
More details are expected to come out for the new title in the coming months with Nintendo offering more information about the game in the E3 event in June as well as Gamescom which will happen later in 2015.
