PS4 vs. Xbox One Sales, Specs, Features, Opinion: Playstation 4 Sells Better Than Xbox One In U.K.
Some Europeans are quickly finding their niche in the next-gen gaming industry.
The PlayStation 4 has seemingly pulled away a bit in front of the Xbox One in the U.K. after the sales numbers in the region indicated that the Sony platform outnumbered its rival in total unit sales, 530,ooo to 364,000.
The PlayStation 4 was launched prior to the Xbox One in the United States -- only by a week -- but many have also favored Sony's game console because it costs $100 less. It also took Microsoft forever to announce when they would be releasing the Xbox One, giving PlayStation gamers something guaranteed to look forward to and plan ahead for. The fact that the PS4 sold better than its counterpart in the U.K. is extra impressive considering that it was actually released a week later in the U.K.
With all of this considered, the worldwide discussion about the best game console is not yet settled. Popular gaming website Gamespot said less than a month ago that the Xbox One was "now in dead heat with PS4." More than 2 million of each of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 game consoles were sold as of early December and that number was expected to reach 3 million for Playstation 4 by the end of 2013. However, Sony has not yet made any statement about reaching the three million units sold mark.
Both Sony and Microsoft sold 1 million units within their first 24 hours on the shelves. Xbox One reached 1 million in a worldwide launch while the PlayStation 4 sold a million units only in the United States.
Considering all of this news, speculation, sales number, and more, which console do you think will come out on the top when this is all said and done? Does the PlayStation 4 have the clear advantage or is the Xbox One just as worthy? Let us know in the comments section below!
