‘Teen Mom 2’ Star Jenelle Evans Allegedly Attacked Nathan Griffith, Arrest Warrant Issued
An arrest warrant for "Teen Mom 2" star Jenelle Evans was issued on Wednesday for alleged criminal domestic violence against her former fiancé, Nathan Griffith, reports Entertainment Weekly.
Griffith, 27, told police that Evans, 23, came to his home and attacked him. He filed a restraining order against her Wednesday, according to the Myrtle Beach Police Department.
Evans allegedly called Griffith from a blocked number asking him to come outside his home. He saw her damaging his car, so he went outside.
Griffith told police that Evans said, "Now I know where you live!"
According to Griffith, Evans began "slapping, punching, and trying to kick [him] down the stairs." He claims that she attempted to hit him in the face. He did not fight back, even when she tried choking him and digging her nails into his skin.
He said that she smelled of alcohol. He believed that she was intoxicated.
Griffith's neighbors came outside and told the former couple to "settle down." Griffith said he told Evans to leave, but she refused. She tried to enter his apartment. He managed to close and lock the door as she screamed "Let me in!" according to the police report.
Evans stood on Griffith's doorstep screaming, "He has my phone!" and "He won't give me back my son!"
She eventually left the scene, but called Griffith continuously.
According to the police report, Griffith a ripped T-shirt, scratches and bruising around his neck that are consistent with his story.
After Griffith filed the restraining order and police report, a warrant was issued for Evans' arrest.
Evans' representatives claim that Griffith was responsible for the altercation because he withheld their 11-month-old son, Kaiser Griffith, from her, as stated in this May 27 Twitter post:
Evans' attorney Amy S. Lawrence told Us Weekly on Wednesday that Evans will turn herself in on Thursday morning. There will be a bond hearing that same day in Myrtle Beach City.
"I can confirm that there is a warrant out for Jenelle's arrest for criminal domestic violence, stemming from an incident that happened last night," Lawrence said. "She is not taking any charges out on him."
Lawrence claims to have spoken with Griffith.
"He will do everything that he can to get these charges dismissed for Jenelle," she said. "He understands that she's hurt because they've broken up, and he's dating somebody else and things escalated in a way they shouldn't have. But he does not want her to have any kind of criminal consequence for this."
This is not the former couple's first domestic violence incident. Evans called the police on Griffith in March for domestic violence. They have been broken up ever since.
Kaiser is currently in Griffith's custody. Evans' other son, Jace, 5, has been cared for by her mother, Barbara Evans, for years.
