Lil B Curse: Rapper Curses Houston Rockets’ James Harden for Stealing Cooking Dance, Makes Up With Cleveland [Watch]
The 2014-15 Houston Rockets 104-90 loss to the Warriors Wednesday night may have been due to a curse, reports Fox Sports.
The Rockets shooting guard, James Harden, played one of the worst games of his career Wednesday night, committing an NBA playoff-record 13 turnovers, but he has a good excuse -- he was cursed.
The curse was thrown by rapper Lil B of Bay Area group, The Pack, after Harden supposedly stole his celebratory Cooking Dance.
Lil B, whose real name is Brandon Christopher McCartney, confronted Harden about the dance on Twitter on May 22. He warned that if he did not receive an answer regarding the dance that Harden would receive the "Based God curse."
"'THE BASEDGOD' speaks... He told Lil B James harden is not cursed but he has been warned and questioned .. Lil B cooking dance? TOPO - Lil B," he wrote.
The rapper told TMZ Sports that he put a hex on Harden because he failed to apologize or give proper credit for using the Cooking Dance.
"He's cursed for the rest of the playoffs and further notice until he speaks on what dance celebration he's doing and where it comes from," Lil B said.
The "G4 Boyz" rapper attended Wednesday's Game 5 and posted a Twitter video to let Harden know exactly how he felt about the alleged thievery. He watched Harden's 2-of-11 shooting and 13-turnover atrocity from a front row seat.
"He lost by 35 points to match the jersey number of his former teammate [Kevin Durant] who is actively cursed right now," Lil B told TMZ Sports.
The Cleveland Cavaliers' Iman Shumpert, who is also a rapper, responded to Lil B's Twitter post.
The curse has been lifted and everyone is on good terms.
This is not the first time the NBA has been dealt a curse by the "Wonton Soup" recording artist. In 2011, NBA superstar Kevin Durant said Lil B is a "wack rapper" on Twitter, and Lil B responded by cursing Durant so that he would not win the NBA championship. The ongoing feud led to Lil B's 2014 release of the diss track "F**k KD" and an NBA TV commercial in which Lil B calls out Durant.
In addition to being a rapper, Lil B is also a record producer, author and motivational speaker. He has recorded with San Francisco Bay Area based hip hop group The Pack and on his own. His solo work includes hip hop, choral and new age.
