Jay-Z and 12-Year-Old Rapper Performance News: Clique Rapper Said Show Was Not a Set Up [VIDEO]
Though there are rumors that Jay-Z's 12-year-old rapping protégé was a set up to amuse the crowd, Justin's mom confirms otherwise. The Magna Carter World Tour on Sunday in Greensboro was interrupted by a surprise guest brought on to the stage by Jay-Z after he noticed his sign. A little boy with high hopes got to fulfill his dream and his mother tells us how.
TMZ reports that Jay-Z did not pull a fast one on his Greensboro, N.C audience on Sunday night when 12-year-old Justin wowed the crowd with his rap skills. Angela, Justin's mom, says that they actually first attended the Magna Carter stop in Charlotte on Saturday. After her son's dreams were crushed because Jay failed to notice his sign that read "Can I rap for you?" on the 8th row, mom wanted to give it another try.
Angela says that on the way home she decided to buy front seat tickets to the Greensboro concert the very next day and she got them (Jay-Z Tickets are usually sold out by this time). She confirms that, yes, the point was for Justin to "get noticed" but that nothing was set up with the "Holy Grail" rapper. "Justin jumped up with his sign and this time Jigga noticed."
Justin and mom Angela were taken backstage after the concert like Jay promised on stage. She however admits that they only spoke for about 5 minutes about "personal stuff," but that the business mogul and rapper did not exchange numbers nor sign Justin. Nonetheless, Justin was very happy to "spit some bars" from Jay-Z's "Clique" on stage with his idol.
Even though some of you commentators are giving Justin some harsh criticism, Jay and the rest of the crowd seem to really like the kid. Hey, he did get our attention -- you never know, we might see him in a couple more years debuting his first album. Good luck to all the dreamers like Justin out there.
