The Grammy Awards bring great entertainment with brilliant musical pairings and this year, the audience could expect a great performance night with Lorde and Katy Perry being added to the roster, according to Mail Online.

A Grammy announcement made Tuesday detailed that Firework singer Katy Perry and teen sensation Lorde are among the performers for the 'biggest night in Music' on January 26 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California according to its website, GRAMMY.com.

Katy Perry is nominated for Song of the Year for her hit single "Roar" and for Best Pop Solo Performance, while 17-year-old Lorde is up for four nominations, including Song of the Year for "Royals," Record of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance for Royals and Best Pop Vocal Album for Pure Heroine.

Katy Perry has yet to win a Grammy award, though she had been constantly nominated since 2009 onwards. She has a strong inclination to win with her anthem song Roar. Lorde, meanwhile, who is deemed as the newest musical teen sensation, will be making her Grammy debut this year.  Interestingly, Lorde had turned down an offer to perform as Katy Perry's support act for a worldwide tour, according to 3News. The teenager has been writing songs since she was 13, and is the first New Zealand artist to have a number one song in the Billboard charts.

California girl Katy and New Zealand native Lorde will perform along with the biggest names and brightest stars in the music industry, including eight-time Grammy-winning rocker Metallica, rapper Pharrell Williams, Chic's  Nile Rodgers, Robin Thicke, Grammy winner Chicago, the legendary Stevie Wonder (25 Grammy wins) and Daft Punk.

Previous announcements from the Grammy organization included performances and pairings with Kendrick Lamar and Imagine Dragons; "Just Give Me a Reason" singers Pink and Nate Ruess (of Fun); and special features from Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, and Blake Shelton. Hotly anticipated mash-up performances include Robin Thicke sharing the stage with Chicago; Metallica teaming up with Grammy Cultural Ambassador to China Lang Lang; and Stevie Wonder singing with Daft Punk.

Rapper LL Cool J, who had won two Grammys, will be hosting the awards show.
