RadarOnline was the first to report earlier that Miley Cyrus was spotted drag racing in her smart car in downtown Los Angeles.

The Adore You singer was spotted heading to Warwick Nightclub when Miley stuck her tongue out for a snapshot.

Travis Kipp, a New York entrepreneur posted a photo of Miley on Instagram where the superstar was in her car last January 3 with the caption, "Miley tried to race us down Sunset Boulevard in a smart car. Needless to say we won."

However, new reports are coming in that Miley was actually NOT "drag racing" in her smart car. According to E! Online, contrary to what was earlier published, the post of Kipp was a joke that media and the general public took too literally.

Kipp, setting the record straight, told E! News, "We were all heading to the Warwick... Miley and I have a bunch of mutual friends and she pulled up next to us in her friend's smart car. She was not driving. And we were next to her in a suped up '57 Thunderbird. We were just joking around saying 'Oh lets drag race,' but we didn't drag race at all. We were sitting at a stoplight."

Travis, who owns a modeling agency in New York, says that Miley wasn't even driving. It could be seen from the shot that Miley was sitting in the passenger's seat. It seems that the whole story was blown out of proportion and has fast become a ridiculous big deal.

Although, if a race did take place, Travis goes on saying, "I would let her win."

Miley has been a staple in news and media with all the buzz surrounding her on different issues. Some of the topics involving Miley include her recent highly publicized called off engagement to Hunger Games hottie Liam Hemsworth, rumored love interest Kellan Lutz and was briefly involved in an exchange with a Jonas Brother regarding drugs.

2013 was definitely a busy one for Miley and from the way things have started, it looks like things won't be slowing down for the young star this 2014 either.
