Enrique Iglesias Instagram: 'Bailando' Singer's Suffers Finger Injury After Grabbing Drone
Enrique Iglesias is recovering from a finger injury after a couple of his fingers were sliced during a concert in Tijuana, Mexico.
The singer grabbed a drone during the concert and went on with the show for an additional 30 minutes after being advised to cancel the show, Yahoo! News reports, according to the AP.
"During the show a drone is used to get crowd shots and some nights Enrique grabs the drone to give the audience a Point of View shot. Something went wrong and he had an accident," a representative for Iglesias said in a statement.
"He decided to go on and continued playing for 30 minutes while the bleeding continued throughout the show," the statement continued. "He was rushed to the airport where an ambulance met him there. He was then put on a plane to L.A. to see a specialist."
Some people at the "Sex and Love World Tour" concert posted pictures of 40-year-old Iglesias with a bloody T-shirt, which he decided to have some fun with. Iglesias made a heart with the blood that was dripping from his hand. His next stop is supposed to be in Mexico City next month.
Iglesias must have grabbed the drone from the wrong side causing the accident, TMZ reports.
According to BBC, the musician got two of his fingers treated following the concert Saturday night.
Iglesias was honored at this year's Billboard Latin Music Awards in nine different categories mostly for his hit song "Bailando" featuring Descemer Bueno and Gente de Zona.
One of Latin Music's biggest stars won Hot Latin Song of the Year, Hot Latin Song of the Year (Vocal Event), Airplay Song of the Year, Digital Song of the Year, Streaming Song of the Year and Latin Pop Song of the Year for that song.
Iglesias also won Solo Latin Pop Songs Artist of the Year, Solo Latin Pop Albums Artist of the Year and the Latin Pop Album of the Year for "Sex & Love."
Prior to the concert in Mexico where he ended up hurting himself, Iglesias posted images teasing the concert.
