American Idol 2014 Judges, Winners, and Auditions: Returning Judge Keith Urban Celebrates No. 1 Album With American Idol Family
Keith Urban takes a moment to celebrate the success of his latest album "Fuse" with his American Idol family, as they get ready for the reality singing competition series' upcoming launch of Season 13.
The returning judge says he is happy that his fans get the chance to interact with the diverse collection of songs on the new project, including his hit collaboration with Miranda Lambert, "We Were Us."
"I'm really blown away, actually, because you work on something for such a long time, and then, you know, it's done," he adds. "It comes together, and it seems like it comes out in a nanosecond and then all of a sudden people are getting to hear it."
Soon after Urban celebrates his successful album, he will shift his focus to guiding aspiring artists on the new season of American Idol. Unlike the previous season, it is clear that this year's show will be far more lighthearted, as fellow judge Harry Connick Jr. jokes with Keith Urban on the set in Los Angeles.
"I just can't believe you've only done one album!" Connick Jr. says to Urban during the party. "I mean, you said it's your No. 1 album!"
"Right! Yeah, I've got a few more to go!" Urban replies.
"Congratulations on your No. 1 album," Connick Jr. continues. "No. 2's gonna be even better!"
"The chemistry is fantastic, I will tell you that," says the show's longtime host Ryan Seacrest. "But it's different for us to look over and not see one of the original [judges], but it's as if [the new team has] been doing it together forever. Obviously, two of them have been here before, and Harry has been here since season one. He's been a part of the show since the beginning and has watched every episode ... So it all fits perfectly."
The upcoming two-night season premiere of American Idol Season 13: The Search For A Superstar is scheduled to air on Wednesday, Jan. 15 and Thursday, Jan. 16 at 8/7c on Fox.
