Tom Hanks' son is stirring up the music and hip hop industry based on his dogged insistence that he can rap the N-word anywhere and anytime he chooses to.

Complex Media reports Chester “Chet Haze” Hanks remains defiant even in the face of rising criticisms, essentially asserting no one can tell him what to do or what he should consider in composing his lyrics.

As part of one Instagram quote, which has now been deleted, the Northwestern grad posted, “If I say the word n**** I say it amongst people I love and who love me. If I say "f**k yall hatin a** n****z" it's because that's really how I felt at the time. And I don't accept society getting to decide what ANYBODY can or can't say.”

This isn’t the first time the young Hanks has created a firestorm stemming from what many consider to be his outlandish comments. He previously said his father’s fame and fortune has absolutely no bearing on what he’s able to do in life.

Back in November of 2014, Radar reported that his parents were desperately fighting to save him from “a life of drug abuse.” The website added that after years of substance abuse he had recently gone away from a secret rehab stay.

In recent years, Haze made no secret of his rampant drugs and alcohol use, frequently rapping about marijuana and partying” in his lyrics.

 “It’s part of college life,” he reasoned. “I wanted to rap about something that I do. But I wouldn’t say that’s what my life is all about. … I’m not some caricature of a person who just drinks and smokes weed and parties all the time.”

It has been alleged that Haze turned to the harder drug of cocaine. A friend told reporters that revelation devastated his parents, “but they’ve done everything they can to help him.”
