The latest James Bond movie, "Spectre," has yet to hit theaters, but fans of the iconic spy in British pop culture are already wondering what's next for the popular MI6 member.

"Spectre" is the fourth James Bond film for the 47-year-old English actor Daniel Craig and he has one more film as Agent 007 left in his contract. But according to producer Barbara Broccoli's statement to Cinema Blend, Craig's deal is open-ended, which means that he could say goodbye to James Bond anytime he wants after the fifth film.

Should the actor decide to stop being the iconic spy, Jason Statham has declared willingness and eagerness to continue as Agent 007. The actor was speaking to The Guardian about his latest comedy film, "Spy," with Jude Law and Melissa McCarthy, when the topic of the next actor to portray James Bond came about.

"Could I do it? Abso-f***ing-lutely," said Statham. "Would I do it? Abso-f***ing-lutely. Is Daniel Craig a great Bond? Abso-f***ing-lutely."

The "Transporter" star is no stranger to stunts and fight scenes as he has starred in numerous flicks from the hard-action genre. He can definitely speak like the iconic spy since the actor is known to talk with an accent that is a cross between Scottish and Welsh.

However, he did say that his portrayal would be unconventional for the character. Statham continued that while he would make a "decent Bond," it would be "very, very different" if he does it.

On the aspect of playing a villain in the movie, "Fast & The Furious 7," the actor revealed that he is not keen on replicating that role in a James Bond flick. He only prefers the role of the Agent 007.

"Er... I don't know if I wanna to do that," said Statham. "That's not my thing. I'd rather play the other guy."

The 47-year-old actor is not the only one linked to the role of James Bond. Idris Elba was rumored to play the iconic spy's role after Craig.

In December 2014, the 42-year-old London native responded to rumors of being the next Bond on his Twitter account.

"Isn't 007 supposed to [be] handsome? Glad you think I've got a shot! Happy New year people," wrote Elba.

The rumor didn't die after his social media post, that's why in April, Elba addressed the crowd at the London's Film Institue to put an end to speculations.

"Daniel Craig actually set the rumor off. About four years ago he said Idris Elba would be a great Bond and then it started to creep. I blame Daniel."

The latest James Bond movie, "Spectre," is set to hit theaters on November 6.
