'Fast & Furious 7' Release Date, Cast & News Update: Rupert Friend to Replace Paul Walker in 'Agent 47'
The late Paul Walker has been casted in the upcoming movie, 'Agent 47.' Having not started shooting for the film, casting directors and producers are tapping on Homeland's Rupert Friend as replacement.
The movie, directed by Aleksander Bach, is the sequel to the 2007 film 'Hitman' starring Timothy Olyphant as Agent 47. 'Hitman' is based on a video game series of the same name.
The 2007 film 'Hitman' is said to be the story of "a gun-for-hire known only as Agent 47 hired by a group known only as 'The Organization' ensnared in a political conspiracy." Agent 47 then finds himself pursued by both Interpol and the Russian military as he treks across Russia and Eastern Europe."
News of Fox International Productions creating a remake of the previous film was confirmed by February 5, 2013.There is no clear plot for 'Agent 47' as of writing but a report is saying that the movie will be a remake of its 2007 predecessor.
Skip Woods, screenwriter of the original film has written the screenplay for 'Agent 47' along with Mike Flinch. Shot locations will reportedly include Singapore and Berlin.
Rupert Friend is known for his character 'Mr. Wickham' in the 2005 movie 'Pride and Prejudice.' He also played as 'Prince Albert' in 'Young Victoria' (2009).
At his early thirties, the actor has starred in several other films including 'The Boy in the Striped Pajamas', 'The Libertine', 'Virgin Territory', 'Cheri', and 'The Kid' among many others.
However, he is best known nowadays as the character 'Peter Quinn' in 'Homeland.' The Friend has been nominated as "Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series" at the Primetime Emmy Awards for the said role.
He has several other nominations as an actor and has won a Satellite Award for "Outstanding New Talent" in 2005.
