Batman vs Superman Movie Casting, Rumors, and News: Movie to Focus on Justice League With Bryan Cranston as Lex Luthor?
The latest Man of Steel sequel rumors say that the Justice League will be a major theme in the film. Meanwhile, rumors that Bryan Cranston will play Lex Luthor in the Batman vs. Superman movie continue to swirl.
On Wednesday, producer Daniel Alter claimed to reveal the name of the Man of Steel sequel, which many have been referring to as Batman vs. Superman.
:'@leebyBADASS_: @DAlter007 any news on what the title of Batman vs Superman is gonna be?" Justice League...," Alter said via Twitter.
Alter worked with Warner Bros.Pictures as a producer for The Apparition (2012), and thus may have some inside knowledge, but in addition to The Apparition, IMDB only credits him for Hitman (2007) which was distributed by 20th Century Fox. Alter is not credited for working on the Man of Steel sequel.
Aquaman, Martian the Manhunter and Arrow have all been rumored as characters in the Man of Steel sequel, but according to Batman-On-Film, none of the superheroes will be in the movie.
The only Justice League members that have officially been confirmed for the film are Batman, to be played by Ben Affleck, and Wonder Woman, to be played by Gal Gadot.
This week, Vin Diesel, who knows Gadot from her work as Gisele in Fast & Furious, Fast Five and Fast & Furious 6, praised the Israeli actress for the role.
"In 2008, she sent in a self made video audition for FF4. Two weeks later, she became Gisele in Our saga...Now, she is also Wonder Woman... so proud of you angel. Yeah, to the left... that's Wonder Mom. /smile P.s. Acuérdate... believe in yourself, for it's costs you nothing and often leads to great things," Diesel said via Facebook with a photo of Gadot and her mother.
Meanwhile, Lex Luthor will most likely be the main villain of Batman vs. Superman.
Although Cranston has previously denied being contacted for the role, sources connected to AMC, the network where Cranston starred in "Breaking Bad," say differently.
"A few days ago I heard from 2 separate sources that WB is moving forward with Bryan Cranston as Lex Luthor in MAN OF STEEL 2," John Campea, AMC Movie News editor-in-chief, said via Facebook.
Team Amasian, a podcast associated with AMC, also reported the news, but Campea noted that both reports came from unconfirmed sources.
The Man of Steel sequel hits theaters July 17, 2015.
