Powerball Numbers & Results June 6, 2015: Watch Live Stream Of Drawing For $40 Million Jackpot
Saturday’s Powerball is here. There is currently an estimated jackpot of $40 million, with $25.4 million cash value.
For weeks the Powerball money just kept rolling over until it reached $188 million, which someone from Arizona finally won by the matching all the numbers which were: 6, 8, 13, 37, 40, and 11.
There were 676,636 regular Powerball winners on Wednesday and $7,362,185 in non jackpot money was won.
There are actually nine ways to win at Powerball. Players have a 1 in 175,223,510.00 chance of the Grand Prize, and a 1 in 5,153,632.65 of winning $1,000,000.
So the chances of winning the big money are small but as we see people actually do win.
The unidentified winner of Wednesday’s Powerball will be able to choose between a cash prize of $119,993,157 or a 30-year annuity of $188.9 million, and both options are before taxes. As reported in Reuters, Tony Bouie, the executive director of the Arizona Lottery, described the Wednesday winning as being an utterly win-win situation, saying, "A winning ticket of this magnitude is going to be life-changing and extremely beneficial to the state."
In other happy Powerball news, a plumber from Staten Island named Anthony Perosi needed to do some repairs on his truck, so he checked a spot in the basement where he keeps lottery tickets that he buys and forgets about and now and then scans to see if he has won a few bucks.
When he checked the ticket numbers online, he felt like he might die.
As reported in the New York Times, he said, "I tried to breathe in and nothing would go in.
“I thought I was having a heart attack and my heart stopped. So I grabbed the ticket, figuring they would find it in my hand,” said the man who survived and thrived and plans on splitting his money with his son, getting to know the Buffalo area better and probably buying a new truck.
