Felix Baumgartner broke a very high record today as he jumped from a capsule more than 120,000 feet (39 km) above the Earth to land safely in New Mexico later.

With the "stratosphere" jump, the daredevil broke a 52-year-old record.

Baumgartner, 43, leaped from his rising capsule and was also expected to break the speed of sound but this feat is still yet to be confirmed.

The Austrian spent approximately 4 minutes in free fall until before he finally pulled his parachute out just a couple of thousand feet before touching ground feet flat.
