Manchester United Transfer News 2015-16: Chicharito Wants to Go Back to Real Madrid?
Javier Hernandez might be interested in returning to Real Madrid.
The Mexican striker recently talked about his future and noted that a return to Spain's capital could be an appetizing situation for him if he were contacted by new manager Rafa Benitez.
"I don't know. If he does I'll be delighted, but everything depends on playing, which is what every footballer wants," said Hernandez according to Goal.com. "If that isn't the case, I'll look for a team where it is."
Manchester United is obviously the Mexican's first choice, but the fact that he was loaned out to begin with might indicate the club's stance on him.
Returning to Real Madrid did not seem like a smart proposition for the forward prior to Carlo Ancelotti's firing from the club. Ancelotti relied heavily on Karim Benzema, barely ever giving Chicharito a chance to make his presence known to the team. The Mexican eventually got his chance and made the most of it, scoring the game winner against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League quarterfinal.
Under Benitez, those opportunities might be more present as the Spanish manager is known for rotating his squad to preserve stamina over the long season.
That would mean that Chicarito could count on playing more minutes in Spain and in the Copa del Rey for the club. He only played 859 minutes of Spanish League soccer this season; he has not seen more than 1000 minutes of league soccer since 2011-12 for Manchester United.
The problem is that Chicharito has made it clear that he wants to be a starter for team and play "first team" soccer. That is unlikely to happen at Real Madrid or even Manchester United where the Louis Van Gaal is set to spend over 200 million euros to improve the team. There can be no doubt that bringing in a consistent striker will be among the intended buys.
Where will Chicharito end up in 2015-16?
