James Bond 24 News Update & Rumors: Christoph Waltz Character Details Revealed
A picture of "Spectre" has been revealed, showing the new James Bond villain.
The Daily Mail leaked an image that was taken of Christoph Waltz's character on set. The still was caught by Vauxhall Bridge in London this weekend and was taken during a sequence that included a helicopter as well as lead actors Daniel Craig and Lea Seydoux.
However, what was most interesting about the picture taken of Waltz was the fact that the actor's face is covered in motion-capture dots. This suggests that the character that Waltz plays may have some CGI and could most likely be some type of scarring from a battle. However, it will not be revealed until the actual film is finally complete and all the post-production work is finished.
This would not be the first time that a Bond villain had some type of deformity. In "Casino Royale," the villain Le Chiffre wept blood, while in "Skyfall" Silva had dental implant that surprised audiences.
Waltz's character has already been seen in the trailer, but his whole face was not shown as he was left in shadows in the first teaser that was revealed. Other rumors about Waltz's character, who is named Franz Oberhauser, suggest that the character is yet another incarnation of Ernst Stavro Blofeld, James Bond's greatest nemesis.
This is very possible because Blofeld has been depicted numerous times with different names including proto-Dr. Evil.
"Spectre" is one of the most anticipated films of the year as it reunited Sam Mendes with Daniel Craig after their successful Bond film "Skyfall." It will also see Ralph Fiennes return as M and Ben Whishaw reprise his role as Q. Naomie Harris will play Moneypenny, and Lea Seydoux and Monica Bellucci will be play the new Bond girls. Dave Bautista will also be in the movie as a villain.
The film is slated to be released on Nov. 6.
