'Girls' Season 3 Premiere Episode Recap: Lena Dunham Reveals Future of Hannah; Tells Fans to 'Expect the Unexpected'
Viewers who are expecting nothing more than nudity out of Hannah (Lena Dunham) in the third dose of 'Girls' should 'expect the unexpected'. At least that's what the show-creator implied in a recent interview.
The first two episodes of 'Girls' Season 3 premiered Sunday in a back-to-back episode. MTV caught up with Dunham and prodded on the fate of her character, Hannah, in the Golden Globe Awards Best TV Comedy-nominated show.
"She's in a relationship. She's writing a book. Things would seem to be evolving nicely. It can't last," she told MTV News.
Dunham was also nominated for Best Actress in a TV Comedy for her role in the now buzzed-up show.
Hannah (Lena Dunham) and Adam (Adam Driver) who were then in an on-and-off relationship have now become a fairly stable tandem. The couple is housed in an apartment they're renting together.
Adam was referred to as "an off-the-wagon-neanderthal-sex addict-sociopath" though in the 'Females Only' episode's first scene by his ex-girlfriend, Natalia (Shiri Appleby).
Dunham has told MTV about the fate of Hannah and Adam on the show's premiere night saying, "They start the season together, as a couple, as a serious couple. And that's all I can reveal at this juncture."
"Well, what happens next for Hannah is she's trying to figure out how to make this move into sort of real adulthood, which she's sort of stepped up her game and trying to really acknowledge her own flaws and work harder to change them," the writer-director added.
HBO was generous enough to upload the first two episodes of 'Girls' Season 3 on their YouTube account. According to Mashable, the network's vice-president of social media and marketing, Sabrina Caluori admits that "micro video is really becoming more mainstream."
In turn, the network has decided to reach out to viewers via other platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and YouTube.
