From her music alone you know that Beyoncé is an empowered woman. Not only has her lifestyle and music been a driving force in women's empowerment, she's been an inspiration to many, both young and old alike.

The Run the World (Girls) singer, Beyoncé, has taken her beliefs and advocacy for women's rights to a whole new level; she has written an essay entitled, "Gender Equality Is a Myth!" and has been included in The Shriver Report: A Woman's Nation Pushes Back From The Brink.

The Shriver Report is a study that is published by Journalist and Former California First Lady Maria Shriver alongside the Center for American Progress. The special 2014 report is about women in America and how the on-going recession and economic environment has affected American women. The collection is comprehensive and contains in depth first hand accounts to contributory articles of a number of experts and public personalities.

Beyoncé writes, "It (gender equality) isn't a reality yet. Today, women make up half of the U.S. workforce, but the average working woman earns only 77 percent of what the average working man makes."

The superstar singer believes that both men and women should be invested equality. "Humanity requires both men and women, and we are equally important and need one another. So why are we viewed as less than equal? These old attitudes are drilled into us from the very beginning." Mrs. Knowles- Carter continues on, "We have to teach our boys the rules of equality and respect, so that as they grow up, gender equality becomes a natural way of life. And we have to teach our girls that they can reach as high as humanly possible."

The report features other articles written in a series of famous women celebrities including business woman Tory Birch, actress Eva Longoria, politician and former First Lady Hilary Clinton to name a few.

Interestingly enough, some A-list males were also called upon to show their support, including NBA basketball icon LeBron James penned an article called, "America's Working Single Mothers: An Appreciation."

According to Today.com, LeBron wrote a tribute to his mother and chronicles the sacrifices her mother has made and challenges she has overcome for him.

"I am honored to participate in a project that is trying to help single mothers who are struggling to make a living and raise their kids, because that perfectly describes my mother when I was growing up. You think LeBron James is a champion? Gloria James is a champion too. She's my champion."
