The all-female lead cast of Paul Feig's "Ghostbusters" reboot just found themselves a male supporting actor. The director has recently taken to social networking site Twitter to announce that Chris Hemsworth has finally agreed to join the cast of the famous ghost hunting crew.

Feig posted a photo of the actor with the caption, "Our receptionist. #whoyougonnacall"

In the original film, Annie Potts portrayed the ghost busting quartet's secretary, Janine Melnitz, who made such a good choice for shouting, "We got one!" every single time. Now, the actor, known for his role as Thor in the film adaptation of the Marvel comic book original, will finally take the mantle from Potts.

While the casting of the Australian actor as the receptionist was a surprise, it fits perfectly into Feig's reboot idea of the film, which will see the cast swap gender roles.

The roles of Dr. Peter Venkman, Dr. Egon Spengler, Dr. Ray Stantz and Winston Zeddemore, played by Bill Pullman, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson, will be replaced with the quartet of Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon.

According to Variety, the director already had the receptionist role in mind for the 31-year-old actor. Hemsworth was reportedly approached during the early part of the casting process. However, he turned it down for reasons that the character only played a minimal part in the film.

Since then, the screenwriters were rumored to have made revisions to the script to incorporate more of the character in the story, which Hemsworth eventually accepted.

Slashfilm reported that the "Avengers" star has no problem switching from action to comedy films. Hemsworth is eager to try his hand on something funny with his addition to "Ghostbusters."

Ever since it was announced that the upcoming "Ghostbusters" film will be a reboot version and not a sequel to the original story written by Aykroyd and Ramis, many fans of the franchise have been eager to see Feig's take on it.

"Those four ladies I have starring in it are so funny and that's half the battle," the director told Entertainment Weekly recently. "I'm going to battle with the best army I have. My whole crew from all my other movies have come aboard, and some great special effects people have come aboard - I have never really done this level of effects before - and I'm excited!"

"Ghostbusters" will be on theaters in July 2016.
