Nike KD 8 'USA' Release Date, Price, Where To Buy: Kevin Durant's New Signature Shoe Out June 27
Fans of Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant might have been sad to see the 26-year-old player out for the entire season due to injury but good news awaits as it has been learned that the KD 8 from Nike is set to come out this June.
The sneaker is the latest offering from the signature shoe collection of Durant in collaboration with global sports brand, Nike.
"KD 8" will debut with the "USA" colorway, an Independence Day-inspired design that will feature key colors from the nation's flags. Based from the images Sole Collector was able to get its hands on, the upcoming shoe design will feature a combination of red, white and blue "firework graphic" on its upper material.
The latest shoe design will be the first time a KD sneaker will come out with the Flyweave material. We Are Testers described it s a "cross between EM & Flyknit" and it is a result of the Nike lab testing out different materials such as the jacquard to bring good quality shoes for the players.
While the upper material comes in colors of the nation's flag, a dark navy hue has been thrown on the mix in the form of the shoe's tongue and midsole. Bright crimson outsole and black shoelaces complete the look for this new sneaker. A metallic "KD" on top of the shoe's tongue adds the signature touch to design.
According to Sneaker News, the sole's forefoot design took inspiration from a saber tooth tiger as each "teeth" is a unit that carries "encapsulated air" to soften the impact on each step made by Durant on the hard court.
Both the mid and outsole extend a bit in the back of the heel, which could cause some concerns if the user is a heel striker. However, those who typically land on their forefoot or the balls of their feet won't have any problem with its shape and aesthetic.
The KD 8 "USA" is said to be part of the Nike Basketball 2015 USA Pack, inspired by the country's Declaration of Independence, noted Sneaker Bar Detroit. It will debut on June 27, along with the other sneakers in the 2015 USA Pack Collection.
Nike's KD 8 is available at $175 per pair. It is still unknown if it will also be available in kid's sizing. Fans can cop the sneaker on Nike.com and select Nike retailers.
