Caitlyn Jenner, whom MSNBC has described as "the most famous transgender woman in history," this week made even more headlines by pocketing the highest fee E! has ever paid a protagonist for a reality TV show, the Independent said based on unspecified "reports."

The 65-year-old former Olympic track and field champion -- who earlier this month came out as a trans woman, changed her name from "Bruce" to "Caitlyn" and began to publicly use feminine pronouns in reference to herself -- is set to star in "I Am Cait," a documentary series being taped in Hollywood, according to RadarOnline.

"It's the biggest paycheck ever given by E! for a solo reality show, and Caitlyn's agent was relentless in getting her the huge payday," an unidentified "insider" told the online magazine. "At one point, talks between the network and E! had broken down, because nobody wanted to pay her more than $2 million; Caitlyn's agent then began informal talks with other networks, and E! quickly came back to the table, ready to pay $5 million," the source added.

The channel, meanwhile, would not confirm the remuneration, explaining to the New York Post that "we do not comment on financial matters." Jenner has signed a deal for eight one-hour episodes with the E!, according to the Independent; she is believed to have paid more than $4 million for her gender-reassignment surgery, the British newspaper added.

The former Olympian's transformation, meanwhile, has drawn the ire of a fundamentalist Arizona pastor who said he prayed for God to rip out her heart and cast her soul "into the fiery depths of Hell," Raw Story noted.

"I'd never even heard of (Jenner) until this week," Steven Anderson, who heads the Faithful Word Baptist Church, said about the former decathlete widely known as the "world's greatest athlete" in the 1970s and 1980s.

"Bruce Jenner has basically mutilated his body, apparently, and he's being praised by our president. Our President Obama is praising him, or praising her -- we don't even know what it is. I think that (Obama) used the female pronoun about somebody named Bruce," the pastor added.
