The film "The Last Witch Hunter" starring Vin Diesel, a film about an ancient organization of witch hunters, has not been released yet but talks of a sequel have already come up.

The actor himself confirmed that the second movie is already in development via a post on social media.

The 47-year-old actor took to his social media page on Facebook to let his fans know that a sequel to his upcoming movie is imminent.

"So the studio apparently is so excited by the Last Witch Hunter - The Axe and Cross franchise... that they are already commencing on the next one," wrote the actor on Facebook. "The first one doesn't hit theaters until October 23rd, yet they want me to commit and already block out time to film it."

Diesel then continued and asked his followers for their comments.

"Kaulder: Are you a good witch... or a bad witch? #WitchHunterWednesdays," ended the post.

Noticeably, Diesel wrote that his upcoming movie is part of "The Axe and Cross franchise," which probably means that more movies are lined up for the series.

Lionsgate has yet to confirm Diesel's post on his Facebook page.

However, with the relative success of the studio with movies such as " The Hunger Games," "Divergent" and "Twilight," it is not that far-fetched of an idea that "The Last Witcher" will be expanded into a series and cover a greater world, reported Variety.

According to the official synopsis, the actor will portray the role of Kaulder, the last one of the witch hunters. In medieval times, he killed the Queen of Witches who cursed him to immortality. Fast forward to the modern days, he teams up with a sorceress to stop a coven of witches from spreading a plague to eradicate humankind.

Joining the actor in the cast for the film is Michael Caine, known for his role as Bruce Wayne's butler, Alfred, in Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight" series.

Rose Leslie, known as the red-headed wildling Ygritte in "The Game of Thrones" will also star opposite Diesel, noted Cinema Blend. Elijah Wood is also part of the cast although it has not been revealed what role he would portray.

"The Last Witch Hunter" will hit theaters on October 23.
